I started out as a webcam model when a jpg image refreshed every second or so and have been running multiple successful webcam modeling websites for over ten years, so I know a thing or two about being successful as a webcam model.
The trick to making boatloads of money in this industry is…drum roll please…connecting with your fans. How do I connect with my fans you ask? Excellent question, it’s easy (a little time consuming but easy), promote yourself. Don’t just sit back and expect webcam companies to send you traffic. Yes, they (we) will do our best to do so, but what separates a webcam model from making an average wage and making an exceptional wage is self promotion. Not only will it more than double your traffic, but the traffic is better and more targeted. Meaning someone who finds you on your cam site from your self promotion is far more likely to spend money on you than someone who randomly came across you on the site. They are coming because they saw your photos or videos and want a more personal experience.
So how does one promote themself, you ask? Another excellent question. Simply take advantage of what the internet has to offer (for free too I may add). Register a fan page on Facebook. Get a Twitter account for your cam profile. Upload sexy (but not too sexy) YouTube videos. Upload even sexier videos on DailyMotion (they allow topless because they’re based in the UK). Start a blog on Tumblr. There are tons of things like these that you can do to get yourself out there. Take advantage of them!
There’s also a ton of adult communities that absolutely love when models interact. For example if you model on CamWithHer, we have our own cam girl forums where you can interact with potential customers. There are also tons of other sites out there like FreeOnes, SexyAndFunny, PlanetSuzy, Fritchy, and Phun. Post up a few pics on some of these boards and watch the customers flock to you.
Take a few minutes out of your day while it’s slow in your chat room, and update this stuff. You might as well create the potential to make money in the future while you’re not making money currently. Just like everything else in life…you need to hustle to make dat chedda!
